I figured we should probably start the new forum with a similar roll call to the last one. This way we can track who's missing and needs to be told about this forum.
I didn't know where to put it, so figured it'd be best in the "Joining.." part so at least potential members can see who we are before joining. Presuming they still want to join after finding out who we are, that is...
...I'm looking at YOU, Plenty.

I'm still around, but don't have the free time to be active on the forums- I'll check around them, but mostly I just wander the triangle and apply the spare bandage or revive.

Is there any way to link the old forum to this one? Just in case those people out wandering Malton don't see the new forum announcement.

I haven't been able to log on to the old one for over a week so I have no idea. I wish there was. There's a lot of Crasker history in the old forum.

Also, keep spreading the word to the other Craskers. I went around last night but I know I didn't run into all of them.
We'll need to reconstruct the DNR list so if you have any of them in your contacts, send me the profile.

Thanks for informing me about the new forum location, Tsalagi! I'll do the same if I recognize other Craskers in the game.

This thread is called "Who we are", but my question is - and this may be because I just drank a tin of contaminated gasoline - "Who are we?" Are we just a bunch of crazed alcoholics who sit in a museum, drinking and shooting zombies? Or are we something more; men and women, joined together by madness and liquor, fighting the waves of hungry, undead hordes, ascending to the liquor-filled heavens as we fight, never knowing when P Jack will die again, or when Tsalagi will pour whiskey over us as we sleep and drop a lit match on us? Who are we?

Who are we? etimS is right. Who the hell are we? When I first found you guys I was just passing through when I figured I'd lend a hand 'cading a hospital that was under attack. After weeks of being there, hands raw from all the 'cading, I decided I'd stick around and join you. It was a friendly atmosphere and a well oiled machine. It seemed you were being revived before your body even hit the ground. But once the action stopped it seemed so did everyone else. We've not expanded much, if at all, and it just seems to be a bunch of people idling in the same surrounding buildings. I don't know if it's just me, but there seems to be very little communication beyond the small clique here on the forums. It's almost as if people add us to their group tag and forget it's there, or we have their alts. The ones they only check once a day to see if they're still alive. When the Beavers asked for help I jumped at the chance to actually get out and do something, a reminder of the Dewes Meatshield, or the Corny stand. Fighting until you die and then fighting summore. The rest of you didn't seem as eager. The point of this little rant is that I'm getting more and more frustrated at how stagnant the group seems to have become lately. Maybe I'm wrong, and I hope that I am, but can someone tell me what we do these days to get our presence noted as an active group?

Maybe I'm wrong, and I hope that I am, but can someone tell me what we do these days to get our presence noted as an active group? I try to keep things active on the forum but it's not as fun when i'm basically talking to myself. I miss the old days too when i could post some random idiocy in game and on the forum and we'd all have a good laugh over it. Now it seems that we are spread out too far to function as we should (To put it in perspective, there are only about 10-12 Craskers in Heytown on a good day). Hopefully after the holidays are over things will pick up, or i could do what i did last time and COMPLAIN THAT I'M BORED the last time i did that (along with the tutu incident) we had the siege on Corney. That should bring some folks home.

Overall I think there are many factors that are contributing to the Craskers decline.
First and foremost I think the break up of the Corney siege started it. For the first time since the Craskers were founded we had absolutely nothing to do. Sure we had down times but they never lasted more than two weeks before a new horde moved in to tear things up. Aside from the MoB scare Heytown has been green for four months. That’s far too long to keep the interest of most players.
Our numbers always die down during slow times but as soon as we have a bunch of zombies standing outside our doors those players who have timed out always come back. As for new recruits, it’s a hard and fast rule that the more zeds we have the more we get. Just look at the Corney siege, you couldn’t go a day without a new recruit. I’ve seen this happen over and over and over. But four months is way to long to long.
The second is the loss of our old forums and I’ll take the blame for that. We all saw the writing on the wall there and we all knew we needed a new host. I just waited too long to find one. There was always that thought in the back of my mind that we would be starting over no matter what Plenty said she might be able to do. Every time I was ready to pull the trigger, jconserve would start working again and I’d decide to give it one more chance. It’s now obvious that I gave it one to many chances.
The third, and the one that is beyond our control is the fact that UD itself is loosing popularity. When was the last time you can remember a real game update? The ability for zeds to ruin a building. What was the last update for survivors? I can’t remember.
In its prime, the LUE had 202 members, last I checked they were down to 50. It’s not just us, it’s the entire game that’s stagnating.
There’re the problems and with that I can now answer the question of who we are. Lets face it, the Craskers are nothing more than a bunch of people from around the world who, by playing a simple little browser game, have become friends. I don’t know about the rest of you but there were times when I knew more about what was going one in your day to day lives than I knew what was going on in the lives of the people who stood up for me at my wedding. I’d sit here reading the forums and burst out laughing and my wife would yell in from the other room, “What did your pot head friend do now?” I’d say, “just picking on Rice.” And her reply would be something like, “clubbing baby seals again?”
It’s not the frustration with the Craskers falling apart, it’s the frustration that our little group is falling apart.

Well, first off, lemme tell you that by mid January, we ought to be having lots of action, and then painful death and consumption because the Big Bash ought to be arriving around then by my estimate.
Second, I suggest that in times of inaction, we SERIOUSLY organize a nomadic group, instead of simply asking all of the Craskers in general to go assist the Beavers. The Raving Craskers need to be an organized group which may not be fighting side by side with the Bouncing Beavers on the other side of the city, because they may be fighting Extinction in Ketchelbank or somesuch. We need to have regular members of the Raving Craskers, which might turn out to be every level 21-41(those with brainrot might not want to be sent out into dangerous territory on account of the danger of reviving them with live hordes about) we have in the group. This will not only act as a damn good way of increasing the excitement of day to day life of our members, but also act as a recruitment drive for the Craskers on a citywide scale.
Third, make sure the Craskers get on this forum. Tell them that unless they start regularily checking in(which ought to snowball into regular banter, etc), we'll encourage Tsalagi to start molesting them while they sprawl in a roofy/chloroforme-induced coma. And then they'll have to muck about in nowhereville Heytown, where all the building are barricaded with last years cades because not even the ferals bother hanging out in the Eastern corner.
Fourth, if you're bored, move your arse out! I've been a one man revifying machine in Tollyton and the surrounding suburbs, and have been poisoning the populace of the Necrotech there with the fumes of the distillery I set up as well.
And Fifth, party. With zeds. A lot. Remember, if you get an infection while partying, it's only going to result in boils on your tender bits, and a severe shrinkage of other attributes, both male and female. So don't worry about being bitten.
We're not happy unless we're inebriated to the point of full body pumping, aren't we? Where is all the suicidal partying at?
Someone do a Keg stand in the middle of a Zombie Horde, wearing nothing but 20 pounds of mashed brain-matter! Yeah!

Umm... I'm totally drunk. I know that's no excuse for anything, but anyway, after saving the link to our board for, like, MONTHS, I finally decided to get an account again. You know, I've been around the triangle all the time and now, since it's been MOBed, I wanted to get a possibility to talk with the lot of you. And stuff. FUCK, I'm drunk and found this wonderful link to this board and screw it, I created an account. May I be unlocked for any subforum still hidden from me? Tsalagi's pr0n-board, or something?

I'm on this forum reading more than I'm on UD nowadays. I like the new suburb- it seems to have renewed some interest in the game itself. Hell, Doc Oc might even swing by again. And I'm all for a roving craskers band- I'll throw my lot in with y'all now. Only problem I can see is that my play times are rather off-kilter. I'm posting this at 1:30 my time, and between now and 9:30 my time (you can figure the offset to your time with the posting time) and then again from about 7 to almost midnight. Also, we have some win smileys on this board.
